- How does the webcam work?
- I have a cheap Logitech camera, connected via usb to my desktop computer. A small app. called WinCam, written by Dirk, sends the picture the bzzt, the server hosting flamencopeko.net. The webcam works in MIE, and also in Netscape if you're lucky.
- What software powers Flamenco Peko?
- Check the software page. To get an idea of what software was used on a particular song, look it up.
- How does the in-line player work and how do I use it?
- The in-line player was developed and implemented late 2002, to enable listeners to experience our music directly within the browser, eliminating the need of external applications. Not to worry, the download and .m3u stream options are kept intact as well. Play, pause, stop, skip and volume buttons function like you would expect them to in any player. What track is currently playing is displayed in a text field, so is the current possition. The graphical eq bars are fake, but have randomness to fool you. A default play-list with featured tracks are loaded by default when you first enter the site. The playlist is scrollable and clickable. You can clear the playlist and load tracks from various pages, such as recordings, remixes and co-lab, to have your own play-list play on repeat. It is based mainly on a component called JXLRadio, as well as some smaller components, such as Archid's Microphone Graph. The sound level graph displays the volume level as a visual curve, getting it's input from your computer. To use the sound level graph, open your windows sound mixer, choose your mic. input to use your local microphone, or wave to have it display the tracks you are playing from the site. To use the sound level graph you must allow us to access your local microphone when promted. Features, yet to be added are: balance, remaining time, id3 displays, vol / pan displays, ability to play back local .mp3's, fast forward / rewind and more. The top.fla including the player is available as open source.
